Peace for the Storm

Here's the verse that I read in "Christian Atheist" today that stopped me in my tracks and reminded me of God's goodness in the crisis:

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6,7; NLT

It does not say that by praying God will automatically take away every pain and trial. It says that his peace will guard our hearts and minds as we face the trial. This is huge. Reminds me that peace is not the absence of crisis but rather the presence of Christ (Clayton King).
